Hanoi – The AICS Hanoi office took part in the 2025 edition of MACFRUT, the leading international trade fair dedicated to the fruit and vegetable supply chain, held in Rimini. Alongside the Agency’s Headquarters and ten other field offices, AICS Hanoi contributed to the global conversation on sustainable agrifood systems.
Representing the AICS Hanoi office were Dr. Luca Sartorelli, Infrastructure and WASH Coordinator, and Dr. Pham Ngoc Bich, founder of Slow Food Vietnam. The exhibition booth showcased a selection of sustainable food products from the Philippines—as part of the initiative “Climate Change and Mountain Forests: Strengthening the Resilience of Fragile Ecosystems: Islands and Mountains”—and from Vietnam, highlighting the AICS Hanoi’s commitment to promoting local and sustainable value chains.
During the fair, the AICS Hanoi booth was honored by the visit of H.E. Mr. Dương Hải Hưng, Ambassador of Vietnam to Italy, underscoring the country’s growing interest in sustainable agriculture. The Agency presented its ongoing activities in Vietnam and across the ASEAN region, receiving recognition for its efforts in strengthening the agrifood sector, particularly in terms of technological innovation and export diversification.
MACFRUT 2025 proved to be a strategic opportunity for AICS Hanoi, especially in view of new projects focused on value chains and the circular economy. The event enabled a thorough stakeholder analysis and the exploration of potential partnerships with Vietnamese and Italian producers, research institutions, and other key actors in the sector.
Finally, the joint presence of the Headquarters and field offices served as a valuable moment for internal team building, as well as a chance to exchange good practices, project ideas, and lessons learned in the areas of agrifood systems and ecological transition.
See you at MACFRUT 2026!
