Within the framework of the Green Team Europe initiative and the Global Gateway strategy for the ASEAN region, Italy actively contributes to the region’s green transition through scientific, financial, and infrastructure projects. In the agriculture and fisheries sectors, Italy provides scientific and technical support for sustainable agriculture through the 3S Initiative and participates in the COOPMEC mechanism, which promotes the competitive development of sustainable aquaculture and small-scale fisheries.

Through these efforts, Italy supports environmental sustainability, fostering inclusive economic growth, and enhancing climate resilience across ASEAN countries, in line with the broader objectives of Team Europe and the European Union’s international partnerships agenda.
