Hanoi – As part of the regular monitoring plan for ongoing initiatives, AICS Hanoi carried out a mission in Tan Ninh District, Tay Ninh Province, southern Vietnam. This was also the first official visit to the project site by Margherita Lulli, Head of the AICS Hanoi Office, accompanied by Luca Sartorelli, WASH and Health Coordinator, and Dung Nguyen, Liaison Officer.

The initiative, financed by the Italian Cooperation and titled “Tay Ninh Wastewater Collection and Treatment System Project Phase I”, last year saw the inauguration of the water treatment plant component. The mission allowed the team to appreciate the progress of the project’s second component – the construction of a new sewage network – and to renew the dialogue with local authorities, in the context of the latest major administrative reform that reshaped Vietnam’s governance structure.

Once completed, the two project components will significantly improve the sanitary and hygienic conditions of the community of Tan Ninh.
