A delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Vietnam, accompanied by representatives from Fondazione CIMA, visited the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) headquarters in Rome.
The visit took place within the framework of the project “Technical Assistance for Strengthening the Regulatory Framework of the Water Sector: Real-Time Operations on River Basins in Vietnam”, funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) through AICS and implemented by Fondazione CIMA, a leading Italian center of excellence in water resource management and research.
Launched in August 2024, the initiative aims to enhance Vietnam’s regulatory framework for water management, focusing on flood and drought risk.
The meeting was part of a broader study tour in Italy to share experiences in sustainable water management. Particular attention was given to Italian strategies for allocating water resources among various productive sectors in the context of increasing climate change impacts.
During the visit, the strong partnership between AICS and Fondazione CIMA was reaffirmed, highlighting their shared commitment to Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) – a priority made even more urgent by the growing frequency of extreme weather events worldwide.
